Restaurant Project: Shinto
For this project, we were given the task of designing a restaurant for a client. My client was the Harold Dieterle, a famous chef in New York who has an Asian- inspired menu and cooking techniques. My concept was the Itsukushima shrine in Japan. The shrine is a bright orange color with strict 90 degree angles. The shrine is surrounded by water, making it look as if it is floating. That is how I chose my color pallet for the restaurant: orange and blue. Our constraints were: the restaurant has retail spaces on either side, it had four columns in the center, and the restaurant had to include: a mezzanine, a bar, a take-out area, 2 meeting places, a waiting area, and be wheel-chair accessible.

Gatewood Studio Arts Building Construction Drawings: Library and Conference Room
For this assignment, our class was broken into groups to measure different rooms in the Gatewood Studio Arts Building on UNCG. My group was assigned the IARc library and conference room. Not only were we supposed to measure the space, but we were also instructed to measure the existing furniture to replicate it in ACAD and render the Furniture Floor Plan in Photoshop using the "Filters".
